    1521Earthworm is an Open Architecture, Open Source software for data acquisition, processing, archival and distribution. Originally developed by the United States Geological Survey, Earthworm is freely available to everyone. Development and maintenance are now carried out by the Earthworm User Community, [http://www.isti.com/products/earthworm ISTI] (Instrumental Software Technologies, Inc., New York, USA) and [http://www.ceri.memphis.edu/index.shtml CERI] (Center for Earthquake Research and Information, University of Memphis, USA).
